Greed and power is a common theme of the Doctor Who universe, and The Silent Scream is another of those episodes that questions if stealing people's autonomy can ever be justified. The concept of this episode is simple enough - a a greedy surgeon from the future stealing actor's voices - identity/voice/power - literally stealing their voices and autonomy for profit - question of legacy - steals voices and films to display them in the future and sell them 'those who collect simply because... they want to own it and control it' 'i see one who destroys the movies and the lives of those who made them'
